technology

technology has brought amazing things to our lives.

internet, my interest at work, is one of them.

and internet based applications [utilities] have impacted the lives of people as much.

i have never stopped wondering about the element of chance that internet has brought to many lives. take for example chat rooms [i am talking about them because it serves the basic human instinct - mating :p]. this is just pure chance that you enter a chat room and find a person with whom you strike a conversation for long enough to take ahead from there. now, this is pure chance. it might have been possible that the algorithm could have taken you to a different room, or the person could have spammed you, or even the person could have changed the room itself or your power could have failed or the person's computer could have hung or both your and his internet connection could have conked off... i mean there are all kind of possibilities.

messenger is an amazing application

but yesterday i used another application which i was very well aware of but have never used much. google earth [piece of art]. i could see a very familiar place [delhi - yamuna {it looked beautiful and not-dirty :D} and other surroundings] from a perspective completely foreign to me and i could see a place [times square, hong kong] i never talked about twice in a day in my life and feel strangely excited about.

crazy things technology does to people...

winters

i should have been celebrating the first anniversary of my blog these winters...

these winters have a charm to them. i love the winters. i love it this time here in delhi. the sun is so bright in the morning and it makes you happy. the brightness makes you happy.

and i love the chill

doctors

many of us must have read all those news about the mishap(s) in the hospitals due to doctor negligence and then the apex court of our country deciding in favour of the doctor creating an air impressing the fact that doctor is virtually safe from any accident happening under his hands[knife].

but when the negligence on the part of a professional handling such expensive equipment worth $300 million[mig 29 fighter pilot] results in his death or the negligence on the part of a clerical professional handling cash at bank counter[for example discrepancy of some hundred rupees] results in his job - doesn't a cost of human life due to medical malpractice match any of these values?

jewels

when i discussed gold last time, it created a raging debate around the world. i mean, online readers from india and HK do make it eligible for saying it the world.

but it helped in a way that i got a bit of insight into the difference between buying fine jewelry for your personal decoration [:D, yea i know that word is a lot debatable] and precious metal investing.

and also, it helped me look into the psychology of our generation as compared to the earlier one.

enjoy part 2

ok tell me what is instant messenger meant for?
chatting with your loved ones and transforming the stranger ones into your loved ones, right?

then isn't it inhuman on the part of internet policy administrators to block these messengers on those machine where we spend invaluable one half of our productive [rendered non-productive by non-working messengers :p] total daily hours?

yea, right, yea, it sure is

so what is the way out if yahoo or msn messenger is blocked on your office machine?
visit this website, simple :D

and if this website is blocked on your official proxy server then refer to my earlier post 'enjoy'

and enjoy :D

pain

life has it's own painful way of snatching things from you which you have grown fond of

or

is it just that the things that you have grown fond of are tore suddenly off from you is when you feel the pain [which you have been oblivious of till now] and all that pain when stacked together make a chain called life?

it happens every 8-10 months and it fucking happens with the one i am most fond of. and the worst thing is that you can not do anything about it. i am very bitter.

update

greetings all you my very dear friends

today i have got a game for you

find out what is new on my blog today? you got 10 seconds to find out

time start
..........
time's over

so all you guys who were able to see the 2 brand new beautiful buttons feel a pat on the back and all you cuties two sweet kisses on the either cheek [all those cuties who were not able to find out have to be content with just 1 for now :D]

so now coming to the point, what are these buttons about?

the smaller orange coloured button will enable you to download and install Firefox on your computer. what? you don't know what Firefox is??? anyways [*supressing anger*], it is a web-browser and better than internet explorer [that is what i feel]. so you got to give it a shot. so just click that orange button, download and install and do a day's browsing thorough Firefox and if you still aren't feeling good about it and write a comment to me.

the larger button with a white background is a google way to make money. it is called AdSense. through this, google places some advertisements on your web-page and when any visitor clicks these advertisements, you make money. you have to create an account with google adsense to start. so if you want to give it a try just click on this white button and go through the sign-up process and start making money through your blog.

girls get you killed

how do you make a good love story [movie]?
bring together two very different beings, make them fall in love and end it with one of them dying.

i don't like tragedies.
i don't even like painful songs [i mean my favorites are those which are happy].

but then i go watch tragic love-stories [yes, it may not be a love-story but i choose to call it so] like titanic and king-kong when my movie-viewing-at-hall averages less than 5 per year and then i would prefer notting hill to them.

technically speaking, king-kong is a hindi movie. 3+ hours of masala. sometimes even a slow.

but it goes electric and live in all the places where the king is playing his part.

i just don't bloddy understand why did they show him falling in love for her, why wasn't he just out there to eat her up...

bloddy hell

the beast

'the planes did him'
'no, they din't kill him, the beauty killed the beast'

that was from King Kong. i think the dialogues should have been

'no, they din't kill him, the love killed the beast'

did he die for the beauty? this perplexes me... maybe mongolians did, maybe gengis khan did, maybe the local ruffian outside my street do, but that silver-back? he was an animal... animal who knows how to love... animal who don't think twice before fighting that that doll which is live and which he loves... maybe universal pictures has thought about what would strike universitality [showing the love in the eyes of a fiend] but i still choose to differ becasue [and i don't know why] they choose to repeat the word 'beast'.

maybe because the 'beast' doesn't know how to eat with knives and forks, maybe because the 'beast' doesn't know how to talk [in human speech], maybe becasue the 'beast' is savage but the 'beast' surely knows how to love...

gold

how important is gold for us? i guess gold for us [indians] is yellow and it is treasured in a way that we are emotinally attached to it. we dont look at it objectively. i mean a girl won't part with her gold that easily not becasue it isn't giving good rates at that moment, but becasue it is her wedding time jewellery and other emotional reasons too. talking about gold rates, it is funny soemtimes looking at the variation in the international rates or prices [there are quite a few sites which give gold price quotes].

painkillers

i don't think i am able to get over this look-into-the-negative-side-effects-of-drugs syndrome. although i don't think this painkiller called vioxx is that popular in here but if any of you are taking or considering them then do hear the vioxx attorneys who deal in the lawsuits pertaining to them. for here, we would atleast know what to avoid.

pets

I don't know how many of you have pets or how many of you who have pets belive in tagging them [ofcourse not the way they do cattle :D] but these pet tags are a good tool. Do check them out and consider.

16 December 2005

lack

although it won't do any good to my red blood cells count but i can't stop myself from getting appalled at the state of lack of hygiene of all the learned assholes that roam around in my company. i mean first, they completely ignore the urinal for the pot [don't ask why, i have already asked this futile question innumerable number of times] and second, they ignore the bloddy flush button. i mean it might be ok if you are from some alien country as US of A where they have sensors since times immemorial which let you not touch any buttons for flushing and all and you are neanderthal enough to forget the flush button; but here...? come on, this is india

14 December 2005

enjoy

if you want to browse a porn-site [okay girls okay, i mean whatever kind of website] and your office firewall do not let you through, try this:-

Click on Tools -> Internet Options in your Internet Explorer. Click tab Connections. Click button LAN Settings. Check the box against "Use a proxy server...", if unchecked. Enter an anonymous proxy IP like 144.135.7.250:443 in the box Address and the qualifying port in the box Port [the number before colon is the IP address and after color is the Port] and click Ok.

Now you can browse whatever ;)

[the only problem is that these anonymous proxy IPs don't work forever. so how do you find an anonymous proxy IP? well, there are huge number of websites which have daily updated lists of anonymous proxy IPs. just search for one in google and get going]

if you are still facing any problem and are a girl, e-mail me ;)

by the way, i am not endorsing the proxy IP given above. i just found it from google :D

jokes

did you see the new posts on my jokes blog?

how are they?

awesome

more pics of the rafting sites on my travelogue

photo gallery of a dane's [rafting] visit to india [some pictures which tell about his perspective and are funny]

i am already in love with rafting

If the following picture excites you then visit this [this is one of the beauties on river zambezi in zimbabwe]

the trip

i am kind of over which the crap of a feeling that i was going through yesterday on account of my car, so now i want this state to continue. and i want to talk about udaipur.

although it didn't hit me at first but only after i went through the jungle called jaipur and back to our commuting delhi, i realised how peaceful udaipur was. wide roads, thin traffic and better people.

but what i really registered was the wilderness. it had some romance about it. it was silent but it was live. i immediately compared the low mountains with the majesty and green of those in himachal but i realised it later that those low mountains were enticing. they call you to experience them, conquer them which is unlike those in himachal which just overwhelm you.

the trip started wednesday night.

the first thing that blew me what that babe [ lol, yea, what else ;) ]. short fitting leather jacket. perfect fitting skin hugging jeans. boots with heels [ that made sound as nice as horse hooves ]. very fashionable goggles. nice plain simple tied hairs. simply sexy.

later on on day 1 & 2 i went to kumbhalgarh and ranakpur. the jain temple in ranakpur was the highlight of the trip. exquisite carving on marble. absolutely breath-taking. there is something better than the taj [in some respects].

the second day was another trip to a very known temple. lots of gujju babes visiting that place. ;). and the city consumed my later part of that day.

the third day was jaipur.

feeling crap

i am not at all driving my car good, and i am feeling miserable about it. couple of days back i screwed the left headlight and today i scratched the left rear door big-time. i am feeling fucking crap.

fuck

11 December 2005

one

nobody tagged me

so i am tagging myself

but this is in a way good as i can have a *totally* customised tagging gig :D

so here goes [and yes, i am back from udaipur-jaipur trip {more about that later}]

1 thing you want to do before dying
raft on all the top 10 white water rafting sites in the world

1 thing you notice about the other sex

b... oops :D eyes [cliche, yea it was intended ;)]

1 hollywood babe
halle berry in james bond gig

i am bored now [thank god, the tag was my 'design' :p]

07 December 2005

less

the only problem with my cybershot s60 is that it has just 32MB built-in memory that would let me take no more than 50 photographs at 1MB size each. now for a 3-day trip [beginning tomorrow late-evening] to udaipur and jaipur, i surely feel that it is a tad less.

but i can't help it, so i would be taking the transfer cord and a flash drive along. hope i find a better cafe with suitable OS and everything else so that i am able to transfer my files. else i would be out of space too early.

class

until and unless you have done class II or class III, you really can not judge or imagine what beauty would class IV and how scary would class V and class VI be. may be class V and class VI would be more scary than i can imagine, but i am still too tempted to resist giving the classification of rapids in white-water that i found on multiple sites. may be this is the official classification.

Rapid Classification:-

Class I - Small rapids with low waves and no obstructions
Class II - More frequent rapids with few or no obstructions
Class III - Waves up to four feet, with some maneuvering around obstructions
Class IV - Very difficult, extended rapids. Scouting is necessary.
Class V - Long and violent rapids. Large waves which are unavoidable. Complex course. Scouting is a must.
Class VI - Maximum difficulty. Involves serious risk to life.

i feel proud that i have done class III rapids :D

what is it?

why do i feel crappy when some female swoons over a guy saying "oh boy! what a great sense of humour he has, i am floored" and don't feel anything when anyone says "oh boy! he's an iitian, how hot!!!", i mean both are expressions of amazement from someone impressed, and i know that but then why do i feel differently about them both. am i suffering from an inferiority complex from anyone who has got better sense of humour [or anything]? or is it just envy?

Top 10

i always wanted to compile a list, this is one list that i would like to complete one day...

wishful thinking, maybe or maybe not :D

these are those whitewater rafting sites in the world which are considered to be the most exciting [the listing order does not reflect my personal ratings and the source is internet]:-

1.
The Zambezi, Zimbabwe/Zambia
2. The Alsek/Tatshenshini, Alaska/British Columbia, US
3. The Middle Fork of the Salmon, Idaho, US
4. The Colorado, Grand Canyon, Arizona, US
5. The Pacuare, Costa Rica
6. The Bio Bio, Chile
7. The Futaleufu, Chile
8. The Sun Kosi, Nepal
9. The Coruh, Turkey
10. The North Johnstone, Queensland, Australia

online

have you ever done any course or took any degree or diploma from an online college? if you have, please tell me how was your experience? is it worth the money?

banned

i subscribed to crossroads network last week.

but isn't
auto insurance or for that matter any kind of insurance a kind of gamble? i mean in insurance, you put in some money and if you get busted [which is equivalent to something that is not supposed to happen and it happens], you will get the money for repairs and all.

and if so, then why is casino gambling banned [i ain't soliciting it though]?

recruitment

i can't help myself going back to that same website which had that Finance Recruitment section. Although I visit them only after my regular naurki ;). i have also discovered monster but it is somehow not striking my fancy.

side-effects

you might recall the other day i was talking about those medical lawsuits. i was going through that website as it was as informative as scary about some medical drugs when i fell upon the viagra lawsuits page. never knew that even viagra has such dreadful side-effects as 'complete vision loss' and 'heart strokes'.
