exodus
i completed exodus an hour back. it was a 600 page mammoth. i have been quoting from it too...
till now i never really thought about jews other than that they were a poor lot who had to go through hitler's concentration camps just because some of their ancestors did something very bad to jesus. and that they live in israel and the tiny country is damn good at screwing evil muslims in their own territory.
exodus introduced me to the re-birth of israel, as they call it. it gave a lot of information and satiated many questions that arose after reading it. all but one, why exactly have jews been killed and treated so badly by christians and muslims historically?
it was such a sad book at some places that at other times tragedies stopped hurting. it is like we no more consider bombings by terrorists shocking here in india. there are a lot many things to say but i have to say just one thing at this moment.
we so easily take love & life for granted.
we all should read exodus if we really want to understand the value of both of them. i have to quote 3 pieces too which i will do, maybe, in some following post(s).

I remember reading this one when I was in college. Some of the parts of the book were shockingly sad. And I agree, it's a wonderful book.
