a confession to make after all

today i completed 'a year in merde' and at the end of this process i have a confession to make.

i enjoyed clarke's on the face innuendo and other direct form of [no, it is not at all pervert or such] comic literature and his endless account of shagging females innumerable times but towards the end when he speaks of this half-indian girl who the protagonist beds on his first pre-date, i was taken aback and i din't enjoy it [a lot, :p]. i mean i knew that the female was more french that indian but somehow my indian prejudice or my cliched belief in audacious indian female mentality kept me from believing that an indian girl can not be open to such accounts. i know i am being what i don't like to be - subjective.

  • cow - r u sure u r not being subjective? i mean there is rural india, there is muslim india [with all due respects] and all that ???

  • of course.. but in India, you can't generalise about anything. Why only in India.. about anything in the world.

  • Agree with Cowlick. Stereotypes are passe. Cultures are evolving. There isnt anything totally "indian" right now... after all, can we generalise about a billion people?
