(c) interesting little tools and ideas

i always thought it is just we people who are at their wits ends when looking for suitable and in-our-budget gifts when we have to attend some formal celebrations like weeding, anniversary, birthdays or for that matter anything which calls for a gift along with your presence at the premises.

what i didn't know was that in US gift consultation/suggestion is a huge industry in itself where they suggest you appropriate gifts for suitable occasions depending upon the receiver's relationship to you, his/her age group, income group [and maybe sexual preference groups too ;)]. i didn't knew that they referred to gifts as favors. i mean we take the word gift literally and tend to use it for all the occasions. well, suggesting cheap wedding favors is an industry there which can have great future in india too.

along with this i also fell upon fish finders. I guess due to the huge consumption of fish in foreign markets, fishes are fast doing the disappearing act from the planet earth's biggest swimming pools. so these innovative firangis have come up with these cute little tools called fish trackers or fish finders. they are some kind of hand-held devices and, i suppose, tell you the location of fishes while you are sitting in the leisure room of your $3 million state-of-the-art yatch. i don't know how they work though :p

half of our office is shifting to new premises in noida. i am happy for that but also unhappy because our department would be shifting later. the best part about the new office is that they have amazingly comfortable chairs. i always think that the office room reception chairs should not be the only chairs which are supremely comfortable as the employee productivity rises when his back is not aching.
